| Isn't it ironic (don't ya think...a little too ironic) that my last
post was about Jerry Falwell? And today, RIP Jerry Falwell.

| On a somewhat related topic, Jerry Falwell hates the environment.
Actually, that's a little harsh. He wants people to take care of
it a little bit, just don't become a "first-class nut" when it comes to
protecting the environment. Global warming is the work of the devil!

| From the February issue of Sojourners Magazine:
"IRONY ALERT: U.K.-based arms manufacturer BAE Systems is going
"green." BAE stopped using depleted uranium in its bombs and is
closing its DU munitions plant; it's now making lead-free
bullets. "Lead used in ammunition can harm the environment and
pose a risk to people," noted BAE's corporate responsibility statement.

| Tomorrow is Transfiguration Sunday in the church calender. We've
got a group of young adults that meet after worship for informal
discussion of the Sunday's lectionary texts and sermon. The
lectionary texts include an Old Testament passage, a Psalm, an Epistle
text, and a Gospel text. The Gospel text, of course, is the
story of the Transfiguration in Luke 9:28-43.
